I wonder sometimes even my friends don't know my native place or home town , so this is my attempt to make ADILABAD more familiar.

So.. get ready to explore ADILABAD through my eyes....

            Beginning with a brief history....
How the name ADILABAD derieved: Previously Adilabad was known as Edulapuram which means "Land of Oxen" this states that there was a business of buying & purchasing of Oxen in telugu " Edla Santha" was conducted.
Adilabad derives its name from the then  erstwhile Ruler of Bijapur , Ali Adil Shah. Adilabad was created out of a sub-district named Sirpur-Tandur in the year of 1905.

Dynasties that ruled Adilabad: As Adilabad is at the border of south India and central India it was ru;ed or reigned by various reknowned dynasties like Mouryas, Satavahanas, Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, Yadvas of Devagiri, KAkatiyas, Bahamanis, Imad- Shahis of Berar( now Vidharbha), Nizam-Shahis, Moghuls, Bhonsle Rajas of Nagpur, Asaf-Jahis as well as Gond Rajas of Sirpur.

Even the district was under the reign of Sultan of Delhi Mohhamed Bin-tuglaq... oh there was a list of  variety of rulers that reigned Adilabad.
